All, I've slowly counted to 50 before writing this message but I'm not sure it has helped. And what I'm about to say does not apply to the vast majority of you who endeavour to help others in a spirit of genuine co-operation, and for that I sincerely thank you.
following a recent very personal and aggressive message posted to this list, my mailbox is starting to fill up with complaints. The first thing I want to do is thank those people who have written for doing so privately, so as to keep potential inflammatory traffic to a minimum. Your complaints will be dealt with. Now let me lay it quite clearly on the line. The Pulse Data staff who monitor this list are buried to their necks in work. We're about to launch an entire new member of the BrailleNote family that is being tested now, and we're working on a major upgrade for the rest of the family. There are day to day issues we continue to work on. But we feel that running a list is not only good public relations, but it's also good to find a way for users to share tips and tricks. You'll also note that what we're in the process of doing certainly reflects the most frequent requests from users on this list, so you do make a difference. But there comes a point where you have to ask if the costs outweigh the benefits. People, we just don't have the time to read personal, juvenile bickering. Yes most of you are customers and you are very, very valuable, and I'm happy to be here to front up to the hard questions and solicit your input. What I am not prepared to do is waste my time sifting through name calling and abuse, I have better things to do and I'm simply not prepared to monitor this list if it continues. I am almost ready to unsubscribe. We want to read each posting to the list, take the constructive suggestions from it, and see that you get the help you deserve. We also want a forum that encourages quality people who know the product well to stay on the list and help others. That's not going to happen if people don't observe a few courtesies. If you have a problem with a message or a subscriber on the list, write to them privately or if you want, take the matter up with us. Or perhaps even just try and develop a thicker skin. But please think before you send a message that calls someone names when it is going to hundreds and hundreds of people. Thank you for reading, and I do not expect any replies to this message to go to the list. Let's get back on track folks.
