Jim,

I'm sorry to have given you and the list inaccurate information. The temporary
internet files folder is buried several layers deep inside the windows folder.
I'll get back to you with the exact path.

Sarah

Subject: [Braillenote] About those temporary files

Hi Sarah and list,

As I check things in my unit, I tend to think the directory structure is
very different in Keysoft 6.1.1. Much of the Windows structure is probably
in Rom and operating from there rather than taking up much space in either
Flash or Keysoft System disk.

Allow me to go through some of the Keysoft System Disk Structure. The
folders I find in the Keysoft System disk are application data, books,
downloads, manual, my documents, printers, profiles, program files, temp
and windows. When I check for hidden files in profiles folder, it doesn't
list any files. I found one subdirectory which is default. I found
nothing there either. I then went to the Temp directory. I found no
subdirectories there either but I found a file called msimgsiz.dat. It is
16,384 bytes and was modified today. I figure that needs to stay. The
windows folder itself has any number of files. The subdirectories under
windows are: desktop, favorites, fonts, help, profiles, programs, recent,
and startup. When I check the profiles subdirectories, there is one called
default. There are no files there either. I did manage to clear cookies
and history in the brouzer. Perhaps my unit isn't in crisis stage yet
since my flash disk has 14,424,064 characters free with the disk size of
16,308,224 characters. The Keysoft System disk has 7,004,368 characters
free The disk size is 8,032,256 characters. I can only assume that many
files are cleared out during a reset. I probably get the folder not empty
message when there are no temperary files to clear out! What do you make
of this? I do know my BN runs very well with Email and much of the time
web sites with the exception of the lists of books in the NLS Web Braille
Site. I occasionally get the file not found when downloading Email but a
reset usually takes care of that! I don't get that message often! No
doubt any number of unwanted folders and files were removed as a result of
the update process.

I'm open for further discussion on this!

Jim Aldrich
