Will,
The only way I know of to entirely avoid the format markers is to put your BN 
in reading mode.  Would someone with knowledge of the BT keyboard give the 
shortcut for this?  I only know to go to the options menu, go to Braille 
display options, and press "r" at the "Braille display mode" prompt.
