Hi Beth and other listers who I confused with my message of a few days ago. I can understand why, if you're not familiar with Bluetooth terminology, my message could be ambiguous, so let me try and clear things up.
Firstly, BrailleNote PK absolutely has Bluetooth support in the first release and it works really well. I myself have used it with my mobile phone and an external keyboard and love it. What I said was that the BrailleNote PK does not itself offer Bluetooth services? So let me explain this further. When you search for a Bluetooth device, if such a device is making itself visible, you can select the device and press ENTER. At this point, you will see a list of services that this Bluetooth device offers. For example, if you see someone's laptop as an available Bluetooth device, and you press ENTER, you could see any number of services offered to external devices by that laptop, including ActiveSync, modem, external keyboard etc. You can choose the service you want, and if necessary, pair your BrailleNote PK with that device. What you cannot do in the first release is have the Braillenote PK offer services to another device. That is to say, the BrailleNote PK will not act as a modem or external keyboard for another device, like your PC. This is what is meant by the term "Bluetooth services". However, you can still use other Bluetooth services that another device provides, from your BrailleNote PK, provided that the BrailleNote PK supports interacting with that service. Currently this would include modem, ActiveSync, and external keyboard. Hope this helps. I heard on ACB Radio and read on the PDI site that the PK has blue tooth and wireless connectivity but see your last message, found below. Help! Beth Hi Don. At this point, sharing of information between two BrailleNotes isn't possible, because in this release we're not offering any Bluetooth services on the BrailleNote PK, and we don't offer a server on-board for use with ad hoc wireless connections.
