Hello Stacey:

1. To my knowledge, yes, there is a braille input mode since Terri has
eluded to it, but i could be wrong.
2: Yes it is very easy to download web braille books. You simply follow the
normal process, i.e. going to www.loc.gov/nls/braille , clicking on the
online catalog, filling out the search form, and activating the links for
the braille volumes from the search results page.
3: No, no member of the PDI family of products currently plays daisy books.
4: The unit does have the ability to download some files from keyweb,
including updates for the voice note. There are quite a few limitations as
to size of the file to be downloaded, and whether the page from which the
file would be downloaded is actually accessible, but yes, it is done
frequently.
5: Backing up the entire unit to a compactflash card is incredibly easy and
can be done in the matter of a minute without the use of a computer.
6: Yes, this unit can be used separately from a computer, though it should
not be expected to replace one. It also has some features such as
active-sync and keysync which will only be available to you should you have
a computer and, in the case of keysync, microsoft outlook.

HTH, and welcome to the list! Laura

pac mate which I'm trying to sell so that I can peopleurchase the QT. My
questions are below and feel free to write me off-list if this isn't on
topic.
> 1. Does the voicenote QT have a braille input mode?
> 2. Can you download web braille books from the NLS web Braille site? If
so, How?
> 3. Does the voicenote QT play Daisy books like the ones on the bookshare
site?
> 4. Can you surf the web and download things into the unit? For example,
updates to your VOICENOTE?
> 5. Can you back up your entire unit to a flash card without the use of a
computer?
> 6. Can the unit be used without a computer?
> Thanks for all of your help.
