so if you don't put it on there you'd get in big trouble?

It says in the instructions on the Humanware site that it is a licensing
code for Windows CE. It's illegal not to have it there.

Hi Lisa,
I saw your original post on this just a few minutes ago. Perhaps I can
help
clear things up a little bit. Two things:
First, your upgrade packet should have come with print and Braille
instructions, along with a little baggie containing the flash card. The
baggie also contains a very small, very thin label which is the decal
that
you put on the bottom of the unit. It is small enough to miss if you don't
look carefully. I know as I almost missed it myself. It has a removable
backing which exposes the adhesive.
Second, the label on my flash card's case says "KS 6.1". Even though I did
a
double-take when I noticed this, I did the installation anyway and found,
as
Jonathan has already suggested, that the upgrade is in fact 6.11. Nobody
should be receiving 6.1 now, despite what the label says.
If you've installed already and found that the Braille Note announces
version 6.1, then you do indeed have cause for concern.
Hope this helps.
Tom
