Rhonda,
A couple of things.  is there any promise in repairing your BN?  Next, a used 
BN might save you some money.  Finally, you might look into the newest breed of 
very small notebook PC paired with a Braille display like PDI's Braillient.  
Does anyone on the list have a Braillient?
