Has the newer version of the BN and BNQT and vn  and BNQT  made the needed fix 
to the low level problem with the headphone jack.  If I am listening 
comfortably to headphones on the bus (noisy background) when the plug is 
removed the level is too high for normal use with the speaker.  Also, is there 
a single earpiece model that will work with the stereo only plug on the unit?  

I think the original behind the ear earbuds were a Fillips product but do not 
have the part number handy just now.

Yes, in fact they were made sturdier than the ones that came with the Voicenote.
