Hi Ann;
Thanks for the info.
How would you write an equation.
$value+value = value

I think the problem you're running into here is that the BN has to know
which symbols you're using for what purposes. In Braille, as you know,
there are symbols which are the same, but they have different meanings
depending on where you use them. For example dots 2-3-6 can mean an
opening quotation mark or it can mean the word his or it can mean the
number 8. this is why when you write an equation, you need to do that
in computer Braille in order for the BN to read it correctly. So, if
you want to write an equation in your keyword document, you need to
switch to computer Braille and write the numbers in Nemeth code. This
will allow the BN to read the numbers you add correctly. If you use the
grade 2, then you will need to put the number sign before each number.
Just change to computer Braille by using the space-o g command. It's
really simple and you can write your formulae. Just be sure to use the
lower case numbers and the equal sign is the 'for' sign all six dots.

I am not using the calculator. I just want to log the numbers. They
are easy enough to add in my head. Why is such an easy thing so hard. I
thought this would help me learn my editing commands. Thanks.

Hi all,

Terry, the discussion on the different file types is found in the
chapter on the File Manager. It is 13.6. It lists the various file
types there. Good luck. Let me know if I can clarify at all.

BTW, ASCII is spelled a s c i i. I forget what it stands for, but it is
how it's spelled. If you need to find it while researching, looking for
the right spelling will help. It's like a lot of these acronyms. I was
astonished when I saw the word SCSI for the first time. I thought it
was spelled like how you look after you've been traveling for a day in
airports and on buses and so on. <smile> That word is indeed skuzzy.

HTH,
Ann P.

Hi Terri;
Is there somewhere in the manual that will give me a good description of
the different types of documents like aski, tesk, braille and so on? I
need to know how to identify them. Thanks.
