Well, guess I need to correct something that I just said regarding that
modem string. For, in playing around a bit, guess I didn't need it on my
other devices, either.

Now, for just connecting and dialing without doing anything extra, I do
indeed need that string for my other devices. However, when I couldn't
connect to the PK via Bluetooth without going into the connection settings
and entering the access point, well, I decided to try that on my other
devices, meaning delete the modem string but enter the access point before
trying to connect. And, when I did that, just like with the PK, I didn't
need that extra modem dialing string.

Hope that made at least some sense.

Vicky,

Thanks for posting this and also for all your detective work. It's very
much appreciated.

Glad to see success, and hopefully with a little fine tuning, you'll get it
to work consistently.

Hi All,

Well, after playing around for quite a while with different configurations,
I finally got my PK to work with my Nokia 6620 using Bluetooth. Well, I was
already connecting that way with the slower speed, but not with the GPRS.
But, finally, I'm connecting that way as well.

Actually, it doesn't seem to work every single time, but I can keep working
with the settings and make it work. And, it has seemed to connect most
times, when I go into the phone and enter/confirm the access point I am
using for GPRS first before trying to connect.

Keep in mind that I know very little about all this, and am just getting
info from Cingular and the web to try and help me figure it out. But, in
the end, even though I needed the extra modem string for my laptop, as well
as for my other note taker, I didn't need it for the PK after all. Also,
for that matter, while I needed to go in to menu/settings/connection/gprs on
the
6620 and enter an access point for the PK, I didn't need to do that for the
other devices I used.

Also, grin, I haven't gotten a bill for this month yet, so can't tell you
for sure how much what will cost. But, for the moment, anyway, I have both
the more expensive data connect plan to use my cell phone with other
devices, as well as the less expensive plan set up for receiving data on the
phone. But, I have limits on both of the amount of data I am allowed to
receive without paying more; and, if I've figured correctly, I am close on
the phone, and maybe have a little more data I can use with connecting to
other devices. And, maybe in another month or so, I'll know what plan will
work best for me.

Oh, as a point of information, here is where I got the info about the access
point to use, as well as the idea to try connecting without the modem
string:
