Yes I did that with one book in which I found I had missed out a page or two so was able to scan ththose pages and popped them in to the appropriate place. The scannar'r did get updated once when it went in for a new tube which had blown. The thing is that one should ask: does it meet your needs, and for me at this stage, my answer is "Yes"
