I bought a charger from Radio Shack for my Keynote Companion because the one that came with it broke. For those of you who have done this, it's a bad idea. I ruined my Companion over a period of time. The keynote companion was the predecessor of the bn, so I'd guess the same thing holds true. My point is that it might appear to be fine now, but you may be slowly destroying your unit.
