Hello, Isaac,
Well, I heard you say that the BN or PK has no USB port/support, then you said it did. Well, no matter. You will find that XP is a hassle to work with and is not that stable. For me, W98 was stable enough. What means stable, anyway? To go on, I advocated ME because MS still supports it and it also is "stable", and user-friendly. However, to each his own, that is what the old lady said as she kissed the cow. So, if your cow is XP, more power to you!

richard,
the reason USB is important here is because it is a way to activesync your
files with the PK. If the individual doesn't have a PK then USB isn't that
important. Now I don't believe 6.1 or even 5.1 has USB support. The reason
this whole issue came up is because Penny golden needs to find a way to
move large amounts of files to her flashcards to be used in her
braillenote32.
Now it has been stated that using a USB port can effectively send files to
a card reader which holds the flash cards and this is another way of doing
this.
Having a machine with USB support is crucial and the later machines have
this support. Microsoft has announced that at the end of this year it will
no longer support win98. this means that it's time to upgrade to windows
XP either home or professional edition. there's USB support there and much
more. Activesync works well with this program. I have it on my PC and I am
going to create a partnership for my PK very soon.
I hink upgrading to XP is the best thing to do here. it's the most stable
windows operating system to date.
