Hi Don,
Thanks for your good information. Right now, I'm trying to use my BN
independent from anything else to go onto web sites, check Email etc. I
thought this was possible since I can scan for other networks and I
wouldn't have a PC with me. I'm trying to log onto my ISP and get on the
web. Somehow I'm missing something. I get my network okay but when I try
to go into a web site, I get the server can't be found message and or web
site cannot be found. What am I missing or what am I misunderstanding?

Hi Jim,
What you want to do is after you get to "browse entire network" and press
enter, you need to enter the name of your computer when it asks for server
name.
The name of your computer can be found in several places, but one which
works for me is to go into control pannel on your pc, find system and
press enter.
In there are several tabs, probably varying depending on your version of
windows. You want the tab that says computer name.
I'm using window eyes, so it may be a bit different with jfw, but what I
have to do is use the mouse pointer (same as jaws cursor) and go down the
screen to
where it says "full computer name". window eyes shows the computer name
just below this, but jfw may show it somewhere else such as next to "full
computer name".
Anyway, once you have your computer name, type it in where the bn asks for
the server name.
Press enter and you'll be asked for user name. Just press enter on this
to bypass it. You will then be asked for a password and again just press
enter to
bypass it.
Then, you'll be asked if you want to update the logon information and the
default is yes. For the first time or two, I'd hit n for no just incase
this does not
work.
Press enter again and you should eventually come to the end of list.
Hit escape and you should then start seeing your drive and directories on
the pc.
Hope this is clear.

Hello list,
I got my ambicom card in today. I managed to connect to my wireless
network and I'm connected as I write. I get a minus 21 to 50 DbM depending
on where I happen to be in my house. The IP address with twelve numbers
separated by a period shows up in the details. I see the IP header
address just fine on the braille display. I then select network from the
file manager. After seeing network places, I'm taken to the first prompt
which is Browse Entire Network. I press enter on that prompt. I'm faced
with two choices, Network server, and domain to search? Try as I might, I
can't seem to type anything correctly in those fields. I have read the
manual over and over again but can't figure out what I am suppose to
type. When I read the manual, it makes sense but when I try to do this
for myself, it is truly a royal pain! Can someone give me an idea as to
what I'm suppose to enter in those fields? I've typed everything I can
think of and don't get anything which would allow me to put in my log in
information etc.
Thanks for your help!
Jim Aldrich
