Actually mine came with the software that you load into the id mate. I don't use it at all simply because my laptops both have pcmcia slots in the side so I don't need a compact flash reader. When I bought the Braille Note, I also bought the gps with it so the gps came with a flash card with a type 2 pcmcia adapter. I also have an IBM 1 gb microdrive whichcame with a type 2 pcmcia adapter.

Maryellen;
what kind of a compact flash card reader do you have and where did you get
it?
As I have said before, I got mine at Walmart and it is named after a camera. After using it one time, we could not get it to work again. I need to get a
good one. I want to be able to read like the rest of you.

Ok let's sort this out. If you plan to use the flash card only with your
Braille Note, then you will not need a flash card reader. If, on the other
hand, you decide to transfer your files to your pc which is a good idea
incidentally, buy the flash card reader. They are not very expensive and I
always vere on the side of I'd rather have it and not need it thanneed it
and not have it. Think about what you may be doing in 6 or 12 months.

Subject: [Braillenote] flash card reader

Hello,
Okay I thought the flash card reader had something to do with the PC not
the BN. Now I'm wondering how much I need to buy here's what I think I
need to purchase so far.
1. one compct flash card
2 one Pacamia card for the right hand side slot of my unit.
3. An adapter for the Pacamia sloj to go with that particular card.

4. A flash card reader? I'm not sure about this one so I'll put a
question mark beside it.
Why do I need a flash card reader? I thought the flash card worked by
itself.

I'm not looking for a disk drive so that isn't what I'm interested in.
Thanks for your help and your time.

I'm just wondering which items I really need and why. I'm inwithested in
purchasing one of each card the compact flash card xthe other type the
Pacamia one. Sorry I can never remember how to spell it correctly. I
haven't had a chance to see if the local computer store has the compact
flash cards.
Thanks.
Lisa
