I use the standard windows volume control to adjust the volume. It's location
differs depending on your operating system, but you could look in your system
tray or in your start menu under programs/accessories. This is navigable with
Braille.

Well, speakers are unplugged, and I have a mic and headphone set but no
volume, so I'll need to know how to do that, but then wake it up again when
I want to use the voice and no Braille.

Hi,
You will need to modify your Jaws and add the BrailleNote as a Braille
display. I like to silence the screen reader voice by either turning down
the volume or unplugging the speakers or headphones. If this won't work for
you, there is a way to put Jaws to sleep without losing Braille, but someone
who knows more than I do will have to answer that one.

How can I set this up with JAWS 6.0? Also, is there a way to make JAWS not
talk when I have the BrailleNote hooked up as a Braille display?

I did the same thing with Jaws 3 years ago. The BN does, indeed, make an
excellent Braille display, regardless of one's choice in screen readers.

Dear List,

I did something which I found to be exciting. I use my BN as a braille
display with WindowEyes. I wanted to scroll up and down a document by
paragraph using the thumb keys. I looked at the braille hot keys and I
decided to change two of them. I changed thumb 2 and 3 to control down
arrow and thumb 1 and 4 to control up arrow. The new hot keys work
beautifully! Now, I can scroll through a document paragraph by paragraph
using the thumb keys!

The BN and WE make a great combination!
