Hi all,
I have to agree, I have only had my subscription and I have already recouped
the money if I would have bought the books. My wife and I like similar
books. She will not tell me the titles any more because I go to book share
and read them before she has a chance to finish reading them. Scott

You must be having some bad luck with the books you're downloading.
Personally, I have yet to see a place where so many books are so readily
available to blind people, and most of the ones I have downloaded have been
quite readable, and some are excellent! For the price, Bookshare is
definitely worth it, especially with all these small gadgets like the
BrailleNote and BookPort to read them on. Sorry, Sarai, you're the only one
I know of who is having this kind of trouble.

I have the Book Port and love it. I think Bookshare is a littl expensive for
books that aren't that good quality.

Yes it's true, the Book Port only works on systems running Windows XP. That
would make a wonderful present, Christmas or otherwise. So would a
Bookshare membership. I can't tell you how great it is to be able to read
all those good books in Braille without having to carry volumes of paper
around. Just one of the awesome things about the BrailleNote! Happy
Birthday, Stacey.

Stacey,
Wow! A membership to Bookshare! Now that's a really nice gift! there're
thousands of good books up there from what I hear and some are free! maybe
you can hit your husband up for a Bookport for Christmas to help you read
all those books! <smile> that'll give him time to save up his pennies!
<grin> but one cabeat! You need windows XP to operate Bookport from what I
heard. I wonder if this is really true though????????
Happy birthday!
Isaac
