but I would have thought that the pause between when the voicenote says dialing... and the ten second pause then when the modem would have picked up and actually started dialing would be less. Unless that's a hardware thing...I don't care either way.

I haven't noticed any difference in the time it takes to get connected
via the modem between 5.1 and 6. Dialup is dialup. It can't act like
high speed Internet because it's not.

does it still take ten seconds for the modem to dial? I remember with
5.1
when I connect with dial-up it waits for ten seconds before dialing.
