Laura, to delete a file, the qt command is control with i. That's the one which equals the bt backspace with c. I think the person who provided the read with x twice command, was actually referring to the previous step in your initial instructions to view the list of hidden files and the number of times that one would have to press that key combination, which would in any event depend on where on the option list you were before pressing it. E.g. if your previous option or default was set to keysoft files, you will be on a different location in that option list than if your present or default file option was set to text files.
