The commands BackSpace+J and BackSpace+B are correct. School have forbidden me
from using keymail and Keyweb so I don't know exactly why you would have this
problem

Subject: [Braillenote] writing in computer braille in emails

Hi all,

>>>>> "Lisa" == Lisa Ehlers <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes:

Lisa> Hi Listers, I have posted about this twice within the past
Lisa> couple weeks and received no response. If I would receive a
Lisa> response I wouldn't keep posting about it obviously. I
Lisa> apologize for the repeated postings on this but I keep
Lisa> thinking maybe if I persist in posting about this someone
Lisa> will be kind enough to tell me what to do. Okay all I want
Lisa> to do which I think is very simple is to type email
Lisa> addresses or Web pages into email messages. I thought the
Lisa> correct command on the BT keyboard was backspace with j. I
Lisa> used to do this and get the grade change indicator on the
Lisa> Braille display. Now I get nothing. What am I doing wrong?
Lisa> I've looked in the User's Guide and found nothing to support
Lisa> this idea. I thought this was the correct command. Then
Lisa> when I'm done writing in computer Braille I think it's
Lisa> backspace b to put it back into writing in Grade 2. If
Lisa> someone can just send me something to say yes that's correct
Lisa> or no it isn't here is what I need to do please tell me. I
Lisa> have always appreciated the help I have received on this
Lisa> list. Maybe I don't thank people enough or something to not
Lisa> deserve assistance. I really would like help with this
Lisa> issue but maybe others don't have this problem. Thanks for
Lisa> your help and your time.

Lisa! Stop apologizing! Probably people didn't see your message, or
they thought that it might be about time that you did a small amount
of research on your own. The information is available to you, and it
is on the BrailleNote. Just do me a favor and quit apologizing or
I'll fly out to Guam and, as my father used to say, God rest him,
shake you till your teeth rattle! I need a nice vacation in the sun
anyhow. (Hmmmmm, problem is I don't have $5,000 for the air fare and
the living expenses.) <smile> I think you're safe, so you don't have
to look over your shoulder all the time.

Let's see if we can't teach you how to fish this time. Have you
looked in the index? Here are some tips. One, you are looking for
how to change braille grades, right? So, it would seem to me, if you
were looking in the index that you should look under either B for
braille or G for grade. Two, these are the important words when
looking up something in an index.

An index is arranged alphabetically according to the topics in the
book, whatever book it is. In order to use an index effectively, you
need to know two things, what you're looking for and what letter that
topic begins with. You have two choices here, Lisa, B. or G. Press
space with O, then U. When it asks you if you want t for table of
contents or i for index, press i. Go from there. Hint, the index
is a list, just like any other list on the BN. You navigate it just
like any list.

If you're teaching kids in school, then you need to teach them how to
look in indeces and in tables of contents and how to read reference
materials in a library!

children in schools these days..." Professor Kirk, The Lion the Witch
