Lisa, you could also do as Steeve suggested, but in stead of pressing reset after you have hung up immediately, go to keymail setup menu and press f to free data base space, after which you can again choose to read email and the advantage to that is that you could proceed downloading email without having disconnected, whilst you automatically will be disconnected when you press a reset of any kind.
