Sarai You can have various ways of getting the software. I'll have to have a look to see if I saved a message which came in earlier this week about this and it would tell the pricing andif I still have it I'll send it to you dirrectly. I am sorry I haven't been able to contact you before this but my router went out on me so had to wait for cox to come reconfigure it.

So, I have the software, the old software, if I get an updated version, I
can get a new receiver that is not the Magellan?

Well veddy interesting. I have a Magellan 310 and it actually worked better
than the Magellan sportrak I have. I actually like my 310 a whole lot. You
go through sendero and they will supply you with the Delorme Earthmate which
is far more accurate much smaller and you have 1 tiny switch as opposed to
many buttons on the 310.
The receivers of today are just so superior to those of the 310 era so go
through Senderogroup for anything related to the Braille Note and gps if you
want the very best in coverage and accessories.

A strange thing about the Magellan is that the batteries have to go in
backwards and they are sometimes rather persnickity.
But the 310 was a wonderful receiver for its day.

Shelley:
I've used it with the dog, but my receiver crashed. I looked up the
Magellan
310 on the net and its discontinued and is given poor reviews so I don't
know why PDI is using this particular receiver. It can be tricky to use
with
a dog, but its dooable. I think it costs $849 for version 3 with the BN,
you
want it on a 1 GB flash card. Wait for a while cause when keysoft 6.1
comes
out, the GPS won't work and Cendero has to make it work right. This also
ticks me off cause I can't afford to buy it again.

Hey you all, got some questions regarding the Braillenote GPS.

1. How much is it for the receiver and the software if you have an
existing
braillenote?
2. Can the GPS unit be used safely in well not so ideal weather? Or is
there a way to protect against this not so nice weather.
3. Has anyone used the BN GPS with a guide dog?

Thanks guys just learned that my grad school is using it in one of their
classes and exploring it for myself of course.
