You should be able to find the cable you need on the website. First you choose
the brand, then you choose the model number. After that, you will be able to
click a link that says something about USB and serial cables. As far as I
know, most USB phones will also work very well with a serial cable and the
BrailleNote.
What model is this Samsung phone you want? Dollars to donuts, that model is on
the website and has a serial cable available. I tried to deal directly with
Motorola and Verizon when trying to get my phone to work with my BN, and no one
except the guy I talked to at Radio Shack had any suggestions, or even any idea
what I was talking about. Also, the phone manufacturers are convinced that,
since serial is being gradually phased out, that no one would want a serial
cable. Fortunately, they are still available, if you know where to look.
Write me off-list if you want, this phone thing is just close enough to being
off-topic to annoy people, you never know--Grin!

Hi and thanks you Don and Sara. I called the insurance this morning and they
will try and replace my phone with the same thing and f not and i'd be
surprised if they could, then something with the same features. My current
phone is serial but all of the new sprint phones are usb which is why i keep
asking about this because I am not sure f what i needs is ppossible. They do
have a phone well over 600 dollars with infred bt that is just too much for
me to pay and just for the web don't think so and they may be coming out
with something blue tooth by the end of the year but they aren't sure so,
that little samsung last night which has everything i want is a usb phone so
don, i think you said you thought i could get a cable made so i may just
look in to that if not right now then down the line like maybe if they have
good deals for Christmas. This new samsung has the gps for 911 too and i'd
like to be found if i ever need that. So thanks fr your thoughts and sara
for that address . I saved it because I want to check it out and see what is
on it because someone from radio shack referred me to it last night but i
couldn't quite remember it and he said there is a computer store down the
street from his store and he thought they could help me make a cable. I
love my bn very much and am not happy at all when it has to be away, but I
do e-mail a lot and am very glad to have a desktop here at home so i can
still do my internet/e-mail stuff even if i cant do it on the bus or at work
or everywhere else i go like i like to. Oh, I did ask ahbout Sprints data
cards, but they are as much as another phone and they thought the card wants
to launch it's own program to run on your laptop like having annother plan
really so, i think i'll stick with the cable route. I'd rather just add a
little to my plan i guess or get a cable and get unlimited access through my
phone which is always with me anyway
