Hi Brenda TO make google your homepage, do the following
1. From the main menu, press I to open the web browser. 2. type in www.google.com, and hit enter so that the modem will initialize and bring up the site. 3. After the google site displays on your unit, pres enter with m (cont. with 2), to enter the internet options menu. The second option reads "set current page as home page". Hit enter here to make the site your homepage. This means that now, when you open the web browser, www.google.com will always be displayed on your unit as the default web address. To use google, open the website, and press space with dots 4,6 (Tab) which will bring you to the edit box, which is the place you type in the string of text you wish to search for. Type what you wish to search for, and press enter. From here, you will be given a list of sites with a brief description of each. You can decide which site you wish to visit and go from there. I don't know how to work Google or even how to get it on my home page. What home page anyway? I've never created one. I'm a voice note user. Don't panic. The commands for voice note and braille note are similar. Don't you remember when I thought I had a braille note, just without the braille? I asked for advice saying I was a braille note user, and the advice I got back worked.I have a braille keyboard, not the display. Usually what I do with my system is go to bookshare and get books. People around here will tell you I love to read books for hours when I'm not working. I use my system for emails and love to have it download while I'm feeding my kitty (kitcat) or something. That's his name. Oh, how do I build a google home page? I'm looking forward to learning. Thanks so much. > > Brenda Mueller > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > >From: rhonda clark <[EMAIL PROTECTED] > >To: Braillenote List <[email protected] > >Date: Thu, 22 Jul 2004 07:02:11 -0500 (CDT) > >Subject: [Braillenote] google > > >Brenda, google is my home page. When it first comes up, if you are using the BN, press 4-6 cord. I usually type in exactly what I need. If it is UPS, like I was doing the other day for the Campbells, I did the 4-6 cord, it asked me for text input, and I entered "tracking, ups." It put me right there. I can use the dictionary that way, just by entering the word I want to look up. It's wonderful! Thanks for the question. > > >>----- Original Message ----- > >>From: Brenda Mueller <[EMAIL PROTECTED] > >>To: Braillenote List <[email protected] > >>Date: Wed, 21 Jul 2004 23:53:37 -0400 > >>Subject: re: [Braillenote] how to find information > > > >>Hey,Ronda, if you have something to say about any message, say it. Your answer may be the one someone is looking for. I'd ignore those nastygrams. Thanks for all your help. I wanted to track a number of a package from UPS. I just don't understand how going to Google will help. Many times, you can't just go into the website you really want, because it never asks for good information for you to enter. I went on google, and immediate hit 4-6 cord, entered what text I wanted. It took me right into the information, and allowed me to search. Hope this helps. > > > >>>>___ > >>>>To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to > >>>>[EMAIL PROTECTED] > >>>>To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit > >>>>http://list.pulsedata.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote > > > > >>>___ > >>>To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to > >>>[EMAIL PROTECTED] > >>>To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit > >>>http://list.pulsedata.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote > > > >>___ > >>To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to > >>[EMAIL PROTECTED] > >>To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit > >>http://list.pulsedata.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote > > > > >___ > >To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to > >[EMAIL PROTECTED] > >To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit > >http://list.pulsedata.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote > > > ___ > To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit > http://list.pulsedata.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote > >
