Hi again;
I finally found the commands in the hand book. they need to add in there to
choose clock. It makes you think you are setting the clock because below is
stop watch.
At least I got it set. Thanks.

Hi Maria
What is the command to check if I put the time and date in right. I thought
it was space with t or d but it sounds like you are going in to where I set
the date and time.

I would guess that you were in One-Handed Mode, and this can inadvertently
happen when you disable Hibernate Mode, which is enabled automatically when
the unit is inactive for 10 minutes, by pressing BACKSPACE together with
ENTER, although this is the recommended way to disable this mode. It may
also happen if you were holding down the BACKSPACE key when powering the
unit on, which is the proper way to enable this mode. Yes, a Reset will fix
this, but for future reference, and to prevent you from losing any unsaved
data by resetting while in an open file to which you have added changes that
you have not yet saved, the way to remedy this would be to turn off the
unit, and turn it back on while holding the ENTER key, which is the proper
way to return to the standard Two-Handed Mode. Also for future reference,
the way you would perform a command, such as SPACE with dots 4-5-6, in
One-Handed Mode is to, in this case, hit SPACE, release it, press dots 4-5-6
together, release them, and hit SPACE again. Refer to the "One-Handed Mode"
section of the "Getting Started" chapter of the User Guide for more info on
this mode.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "an example for the date and time for
USA". However, here's how you would reset your date and time. BTW, I don't
know how you would have altered these settings, unless you performed a Reset
with dots 4-5-6, but anyway, after you perform this type of Reset, you would
have been prompted for the date and time, but if you simply hit ENTER
repeatedly to bypass those prompts until you reached the Main Menu, you can
set the date and time through the Utilities Menu, in which case you would
receive the same prompts, and the same options would be available. From the
Main Menu, therefore, type U for the Utilities Menu, followed by D for the
"Date and Time Set" option. The first prompt will be "Date Format?". If
you're still at this prompt, assuming that you performed a Reset with dots
4-5-6, you obviously don't have to enter the Utilities Menu>Date and Time
Set option from the Utilities Menu, and you need only stay where you are.
Anyway, at the "Date Format?" prompt, which lets you choose whether you wish
to have your dates displayed as month/day/year (US format) or day/month/year
(UK format), if you're not immediately prompted with the US format, press S
for said format, and tap ENTER. The next prompt will be "Time Format?",
which gives you the choice of 12 hour or 24 hour time, and since you're in
the US, hit A for 12 hour, and tap ENTER. Next, you're prompted for the
"Time Zone?", so type the letter E until you reach "Eastern Standard Time",
which is the one you want, as you live in Maryland. Tap ENTER, and you're
asked whether in Daylight Savings Time; as you currently are not, type N,
and tap ENTER. Next, type in the time as number sign (dots 3-4-5-6), the
hour number in Literary Braille form, a colon (dots 2-5), the minute number
or numbers in Literary Braille form, hit SPACE, and type AM or PM in lower
case letters without a letter indicator preceding them. Tap ENTER, and to
type in the date, type a number sign, the month number in Literary Braille,
hit SPACE, type the day number preceded by a number sign, hit SPACE, and
type the year preceded by a number sign. For example, if it was 6:05 PM
today (Feb. 15), I would type dots 3-4-5-6, dots 1-2-4, dots 2-5, dots
2-4-5, dot 1, SPACE, dots 1-2-3-4, dots 1-3-4, and tap ENTER; at the "Date?"
prompt, I would type dots 3-4-5-6, dots 1-2, SPACE, dots 3-4-5-6, dot 1,
dots 1-5, SPACE, dots 3-4-5-6, dots 1-2, dots 2-4-5, dots 2-4-5, dots 1-5,
and tap ENTER. Upon completion of the "Time?" and "Date?" prompts, you're
returned to the Utilities Menu, and the process is complete. The topic of
the User Guide here is the "Time and Date Set" topic of the index of your
User Guide.

HTH,
Maria
