Now I can understand why the $1700 price tag. Since the operating system is
different, it is not surprising that a new motherboard might be necessary on
occasion.
Yes, I agree that prices are soaring out of sight. Well, who knows why?
One problem may be the shortage of silicone in Silicone Valley in San Hose,
California, just south of San Francisco Bay. My friends tell me that so
many women are using silicone breast implants that there is no silicone left
over to produce transistors or integrated circuits in Silicone Valley.
Perhaps there could be a nationwide public plea for the return of some of
that silicone so that science can progress without shortages and without
supply and demand getting out of step with each other.

the upgrade costs $399 unless you need a new motherboard. Now I hear that
new motherboard costs $1395. I heard it used to be $800 less than three or
four years ago...
