I have a recipe I want to share with other bread bakers.
My husband and I bought a bushel of apples and I tried a few ways of
using them with my whole wheat bread dough. One was a real winner.
I just cooked a pan of apples with splenda and cinnamon and cooled.
I then used the basic Bosch whole wheat dough recipe and rolled like
for cinnamon rolls. I spread the apple mixture (cooled) over it
liberally and rolled like for cinnamon rolls on a baking stone. I
made it into a circle and cut slits about 2 inches apart part way
down (about 1 inch.) Baked it and frosted it with sugar free cream
cheese icing. It was beautiful to look at and tasted fabulous.
Icing consisted of 4 oz cream cheese softened. Stir in 1/2 stick
softened butter 1/2 t. vanilla and 1 cup splenda. Stir and frost
the ring about right out of the oven.
The only thing wrong with this ring is it was so good is it was hard
to stop eatting it.
