I looked in the archives for a contaminated/brown water problem but
couldn't find any final resolution. My 2.5 yr-old BII is suddenly
dispensing brown water from both the Steam/Hot Water boiler and brew
head. Have pulled screen and cleaned, flushed a couple gallons through
and it is getting clearer but very slowly. Steam/Hot Water boiler is
clearing faster than brew side. Also getting a few tiny brown chunks
from brew side. I think I caused this by leaving a used/full
portafilter in a powerd machine for about 90 minutes. Seems like that
shouldn't cause a contamination event but maybe I left the lever in
the wrong position.
So do I just follow normal backflush/descale/cleaning procedures and
keep flushing or are there any shortcuts?
