A subject of debate. I set my backflush pressure at 9, and my shots pull at
about 8.5. I believe factory is set to about 10 for backflush, and about 9
for shots. To adjust this, you need to set the pressure "up" to your
intended target, i.e. you can't just dial from 12 down to 9. In your case,
if you go to 12, and while holding that pressure dial the OPV down, you will
need to then release pressure and build it again to see where you are. If
you're at 10 now, dial it down again and release pressure, build pressure,
check. If your OPV were set too low, you could just dial it up to the
desired setting. So if you went from 10 to 8, for example, you could build
to 8, then dial up to 9 and be golden.

Bottom line, release and rebuild pressure between each reduction of pressure
setting, but just build pressure and dial up if you need to increase
pressure setting. 12 is way too high; 14 is off the charts too high. The
balance between volume, grind, tamp, etc. is very hard to hit at such high
pressures, because you're having to really over-compensate to try to avoid
channeling, etc.
