I don't see why technically you could not add hot water to the
reservoir, on the other hand why would you?
The longer warm , hot water sits in plastic, the more chemicals will
leach into it, changing the taste.
And also if the hot water was coming out of another espresso boiler,
the taste would already be changed somewhat.  Stale water x2 does not
sound too appetizing.  I think the water sits quite a bit in the
brewtus' large boiler aleady.
I flush a lot to make sure I have fresh water in the boiler.  But I'm
pretty picky. You may not taste the difference. Try it out and let us
know if you detect any change in flavor....
