Not super-familiar with the Lever, but have you checked the tip to be sure it's not partially clogged? Does the lever have a light that shows when the boiler is heating? If so, try opening the steam wand for a few seconds, then let the boiler come on and try steaming when it's heating.
Short of that, maybe you have a failing boiler element.
