While I had the cover off of my Brewtus II to replace a deteriorated
thermocouple which had shorted out, I noted some faint deposits on the
back side of the cover near the top of the steam boiler. At first I
thought it was simply coming from the vacuume relief valve, but on
closer inspection I noted some deposits on the T-fitting where the P-
stat connects to it.

After replacing the thermocouple I left the cover off and and fired
the Brewtus back up. Sure enough there was a very faint leak (I had
to use some tubing, with one end in my ear and the other up against
the fitting to hear a VERY faint hissing of steam). I cleaned up the
T-fitting and found that there were 2 hair line cracks (see the "Steam
Boiler T-fitting" PDF in the Files section).

I've contacted Todd at WLL to see if he can get me the part. Just
thought I'd pass this on to the group FYI. If you've had problems
with your steam boiler "leaking down", this might be a spot to check
as a possible culprit.

For reference my Brewtus II is 3-years old and is used daily. I
replaced the P-stat with a Jaeger back in May but did not remove the
connection at the T-fitting.
