I use a Rancilio naked PF--it came with a triple basket, but I use the double basket from Expobar. I use an Intermatic TN311 heavy duty timer, rated at 15 amps. It has been in continuous service for four years with no problems. The only downside of it is that it is an analog timer, so when power goes out (frequent here), it has to be reset to the correct time. A digital with battery backup would solve this problem. But, analog simplicity...
Purchased the PF at Chris' Coffee ($60, http://www.chriscoffee.com/products/home/espressoaccs/bottomlessportafilter, timer at Ace Hardware ($25).
