Guido, the reason that I make this request is that I cannot make a measurement "under pressure" without a Scace device. I removed the 5 mm bolt and inserted a thermocouple there, though I did attempt to plug up the hole around the thermocouple. I also just had a portafilter in the grouphead without anything to displace the volume as a puck of coffee would.
But my suspicion is that even if the experiment would be run with a Scace device, there will still be ample moments were the brew water will lose pressure as it initially fills the brewpath and hence lose temp. The point that needs to be made is that if what I suspect is true, then *the range of temps at the portafilter/coffee puck is fatally limited* to 100 degrees C minus whatever the temperature drop is through the grouphead. Perhaps the *max temp might be 100-6=94 C (201.2 F) or 100-7=93 C (199.4)*? I hope not, as this would exclude a very useful range of brew temps. Not to confuse things, but if the brew water is losing pressure and hence at 100 C max at some point in the brewpath, then this would imply that it reaches this temperature irrespective of the boiler temperature. So this also *implies that the programmed offset (C0)* in the Brewtus controller should *be set to (measured portafilter temp)-100 C*, and that the *front panel temp be set no higher than* the maximum reading of the measured brew water at the portafilter during this proposed experiment. In any case, thank you for your feedback. *I do hope that someone takes interest in this simple experiment* and report their results here. What it may show would have important consequences on the limitations of temperature control over brew water in the Brewtus, and perhaps other machines of similar design as well.
