do you know on which handles fit this base, besides their own make?
would anyone know if it should fit with the esp tamper handles? i am
considering an esp tamper and a vst basket, but this tamper seems to be
rather small for that basket type. and the esp bases do not come in
custom sizes.
the vst tamper looks really nice, but offers no guidance to my
technique, and i find them rather expensive.

Just to add a little information. You can save a fair amount of
money. The Reg Barber base 58.4mm is the right size and $43.00 (USD)
not including shipping. It is what I am using with the baskets
