Thank you for posting a genuine offer of help to another member.  I will add a 
few thoughts later today as well.  You are correct that it is not possible to 
get the screen clean, even when boiling, etc.  I have done destruction tests 
(detailed on this forum a few years ago) after using multiple cleaning methods, 
and there is always crap left in between the screen and the perforated metal 
base.  As you stated, it is false economy to use a compromised $8 part on a 
$2000 machine.

Dave is correct that you need to clean the parts of the group that you can 
access.  And of course, you need to be backflushing with Cafiza or similar to 
keep the internals clean.
