I've gotten some good repairs tips here, so this is one I'm happy to give 
back. The flimsy thin fiberglass insulator on a Brewtus boiler can be 
nicely replaced with a high temperature jacket intended for exhaust 
shielding in cars. Here are pics of the result. I got this jacket at an 
O'reilly store, but I suspect any auto parts store will do. It fit 
perfectly and has a Velcro fastener so no tie wraps or wire is need to keep 
it place.
