So the actual answer it seems was just operator error. Being that I just bought the machine used and not working I didn't think about the temp coasting past the set temperature, particularly at the start. And it was set pretty high either 98 or 99. So when it shot past those, and into the - - zone, I got a little nervous because I didn't know what was happening. Today I lowered the set temp to 94. When it got to 94 the heater shut off, and the temp went to 98, and then resettled and stabilized back at 94. Looks like I am good to go now.
