I have a problem with my Brewtus II and was wondering if you could help me
figure out what to do.

I have had my Brewtus II connected to a Brita filter after changing the
set-up of reservoir sensor switch cables. About a week ago, I forgot to
fill the filter with water, the machine went on (it is on a timer) and when
I got back home there was a pretty bad smell and Brewtus did not fill with
water. I bought a new Ulka pump and changed it (Todd, many thanks for the
movie). I changed the pump only as I could not get hold of OPV and
deariator in Europe quickly enough.

When I turn the machine on, there is short to ground and the Brewtus goes
off instantly. When I unplug the pump's cable from the controller, Brewtus
turns on, the red light indicating boiler is heating up is on but goes off
after a second (but there is no short to ground at least).

Not sure if this is relevant, but I did some checks with ohm meter and
there seems to be short to ground in the steam boiler (the meter shows
resistance when putting leads to steam boiler and copper tubing on the
boiler as shown in 15:08 min of Todd's excellent movie on testing
electronic systems in the Brewtus).

I wonder if the problem is with the pump, steam boiler, or something else?
