I’ve been using a Bezzera bz07 for the last 10 years. I “upgraded” it to an in-boiler PID when the second pressurestat failed 3 years ago and i modified it for direct plumbing 8 years or so ago. PID on HX was just to see if i could do it since i had extra parts lying around. Been a champ the entire 10 years. Has never really liked pulling more than a few shots in a row without a rest, but thats about the only “weak” spot. Still pulls killer shots every day.
That said, im thinking of whether its worth an upgrade to the Brewtus 4R. I have used only HX machines (rebuilt gaggia first) and never an E61. Have not found a local place in chicago to go play with a 4R yet so the question is — any opinions on whether the 4R would be a noticeable upgrade? Especially with the ability to play with preinfusion and temp? I have a Mazzer SJ grinder for making the bean bits...
