Most likely it’s a burnt out element, or a failed wire/connector. Always 
best to confirm what’s happening with a multimeter. If you remove the 
connectors to the element and measure the resistance, you should see by my 
best guess ~11 ohms if it’s a 120volt machine, and ~5.5 ohms if it’s a 240 
volt machine. If there is a much much higher resistance, or no continuity 
at all then it’s burned out. While you’re at it, inspect the rest of the 
wires leading to the element.

Since the diagram indicates that the light is fed from the same source as 
the element and is connected to neutral on the other side, the break is 
between wherever the two wires for the light connect to.
