I was replacing the temperature probe on my B-II today because I was
getting impossible temperature fluctuations after the machine was at temp
for a while. it would quickly dip down to 70c and then back up to 95c
within 30 seconds or so. While loosening the contacts on the AKO
controller i guess I held on with too much force (and it was not very
much), the entire case basically shattered because it was so brittle. it
won't seat back in the housing now and it cracked in so many places like
egg shell. Anyone have thoughts on whether to buy a new AKO controller,
upgrade to PID or just thank this machine for 15 years of service and buy
something new?

Two years ago I replaced the Gicar control board (bad relay), pump,
pressurestat and OPV and everything was going great except the temperature
fluctuation.

Thanks
