Hi, I was trying to use nmap the other day on my bridging firewall, and I noticed that the scans that require it to sniff were not working correctly. So I turned off all my firewall rules. No effect. I unloaded br_passthrough. Then it started working. Tcpdump also displays anomalies when br_passthrough is running. It only sees ARP traffic for the most part, no IP traffic. I'm looking at traffic directed for the bridge itself, so it's not an issue of running in a switched networked.
