Hello,
I did some digging through the archives and found a little bit of info on
traffic shaping with the bridge, but nothing conclusive. So, here's what
I'd like to do . . . although it doesn't seem like I 'should' be able to, so
any comments will be appreciated.
I've configured the bridge with brctl. I've added my two NICs to the
bridge and am getting traffic through it just fine. I've also configured my
kernel with "Traffic Shaping" support, and have created the shaper0 device
using the shapecfg utility. So along I putzed to look at how to send
traffic through the shaper. It seems to be done with the routing. That's
where I'm stuck. Since I'm not doing any routing/firewalling on this
machine, I can't really point a subnet to the shaper0 device. My main
questions are:
Should I be able to shape traffic on the bridge and configure it with the
shapecfg utility?
Does anyone have a bridge working with any sort of traffic shaping (and no
firewalling)?
Much thanks in advance for any assistance. Also, my apologies if this has
been hashed over already, but I didn't see anything solid in the archive.
Regards,
Ryan Gray
