I just started on this using RH 7.2 on a 233MHz 2 3com NICs. The bridging came up straight away however, I knowing next to nothing about (chains) and the newer developments with netfilter and etables. I want to do basic bridging with filtering. Ideally I will want to use something like snort with guardian scripts to dynamically update the filters. Would it be better to stay with the newer netfilter or etables? Any help suggestions or better yet, examples would be greatly appreciated. P.s. Thanks Lennert. Wonderful work.
