I have a couple of firewall bridges working with 2.2.18 kernel.
I used the ipchains bridge patch to be able to filter on name of bridge.
Everything works fine. So thank you very much Lennert!
I needed to transition my current bridges to newer h/w and kernel.
Namely multi-processor servers running 2.4 kernel
and bridge code for 2.4 kernel.
I plan on taking this transition in steps. Before redoing all my rules
to IPTABLES, I would like to take advantage
of newer h/w and simply run the IPCHAINS/Bridge rules on the newer h/w
and kernel.
So far I have got
- 2.4.17 kernel running the ipchains module
- the 0.9.3 bridge utilites
- the lastest brdige netfilter patch
Everything works except Ipchains does not recognize the bridge as an
interface.
How do I get this to work?
Do I apply the old 2.2.18 ipchains/bridge patch to my 2.4.17 kernel?
Is there some other patch that will allow ipchains running under 2.14.17
kernel to understand bridge interface?
