Hello all,
I'm having a little difficulty with dhcp over the
bridge. The problem is that the bridge itself is a client of the dhcp
server. To my surprise, it *almost* works! The clients behind the
bridge are able to lease an ip from a dhcp server on the other side of the
bridge. But unfortunately, the bridge machine itself is having problems
getting an IP. When I run dhcpcd on the bridge interface, nothing seems to
happen. Oddly though, when I run dhcpcd on the actual interface, it can
lease an ip just fine.. but nothing works.
I have a few questions:
Where can I go from here?
Ideas? What could be wrong.
Is this even possible?
Id rather not have to make another linux box out of
spare parts to do just the bridging if I can get away with it.
Thanks,
Chris Leavoy
