I have the following setup
A--->Hub(10/100Mbps) ---> Linux Bridge ----->CTC Line driver--->B
(10/100Mbps cards) (configured for 392kbps, 10/100Mbps)
And when I try to ping a machine B from A there are some packet drops
which
are coming at random. The bridge is acting as a transparent firewall
The kernel version is 2.2.18.
When I try to ping machine A and B individually from the bridge after
giving
an IP address to bridge then there are no issues.
On seeing statistics corresponding to interface which is connected
to CTC
I find that there are lot of RX errors.
Could this be a problem because of unequal setup of card speeds, but
since
its 10/100 cards then each card of the bridge should autonegotiate
with
both the segments.
Should I forcibly try to bring the speed of the card down to 10Mbps.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Satvinder
