I won't give up... try compiling ebtables support and filtering with ebtables.

ebtables is like iptables, but it blocks not only IP packets, it has 
multiprotocol support.

give it a try...

I still don't understand why iptables don't work...

hmmm...... I guess you have also activated all the modules inside netfilter 
configuration right?
