RF->iptables v1.2.7

Where did you find this? I'm just now reding on the iptables web site that
the latest stable version is 1.2.6a!

RF->While trying to add rules within iptables, the traffic/bridge is not

Neither the global ones reported near the "policy" in brackets before the
listing of the rules?

RF->I`ve tried adding to the INPUT/OUTPUT/FORWARD etc.

The FORWARD chain is the one to use to filter bridge packets. Have you tried
adding a "DROP all" rule to the INPUT and OUTPUT chains and test if you can
reach your Linux box from outside it and viceversa?

It could be that you haven't enabled the "Network Packet Filtering" option in
the kernel but only the one related to the bridge.
